Sketches I'm considering digitally painting - What one would you like to see painted?

  1. the first and last are pretty bad ass! and the middle one could also be so awesome! with super awesome lighting.....this is a hard one!....urmm....i'd say the middle one...it has like a story to it!.....so middle!

Hi Derek, if you run with the middle one, you may want to make the large creature take a more readable pose (gesture), and put a hair more instability in the pose of the knight (to suggest it's not a done deal that he'll defeat the big creature). The ground is too flat. The backdrop has a great design (framing and directing devices), but a bit too symmetrical and obvious. Add more variety of proportions, and make those curling peaks more believable (maybe it's the insides of a giant skeleton and this is the rib cage area, or it's an alley with architecture in ruins, etc.). I'd also be tempted to show more anger in the hands of the creature to suggest it's still fighting. BTW all three sketches are very centered. Is such a placement supporting the emotions you want your viewer to feel? Go for it! Cheers!
